部分川普大學（Trump University）的學生聲稱，他們付了高達3.5萬美元學費，原本是想從所謂川普親手所挑的講師那裡學到川普地產投資成功的「秘訣」，事後卻發現受騙。
本案審理庭期排定於28日開始，聯邦地方法院法官庫利爾（Gonzalo Curiel）告訴雙方律師，他不傾向展延這宗已6年的官司。但川普的律師彼卓希里（DanielPetrocelli）表示，他會向法官詢問能否將庭期延至明年初，因為川普在明年就職前，行程已滿檔。
庫利爾表示，他會允許雙方再提訴狀陳明是否願意再讓本案延後，並指出雙方應考慮達成和解。庫利爾說：「認真去想怎麼讓本案涉及的所有部分能得到解決，對原、被告都是明智的。」
庫利爾還表示，為確保總統享有的權益，他會允許川普透過視訊來作證。
